Alumna Pamela Rae Schuller Performs at New York City Center

on November 10, 2022 By Molly Huddle Coffey | alumni
When we heard that Pamela Rae Schuller '05 was going to perform with Pop-Up Magazine at the New York City Center, we knew we had to be there. Pamela is a disability advocate, comedian, and professional speaker who has worked with big companies like Disney and Google and opened for performers such as Joan Rivers and Fetty Wap. When we discovered that she would tell stories about her years at Rock Point School for the Pop-Up Magazine tour, we bought tickets and invited friends!

Ooky Spooky 5k Breaks Fundraising Record

on October 31, 2022 By Molly Huddle Coffey | public event
Thank you so much to everyone who came out to support COTS by participating in the Rock Point School Ooky Spooky 5k. It was a beautiful day for a run and the runners' enthusiasm was contagious! We loved seeing everyone's clever costumes. The costume contest winners included a stick-figure family and a runner riding a T-Rex (maybe that's cheating?). There were even dogs in costume! Congratulations to the runner with the best time who was dressed as Mets' pitcher Jacob deGrom! This year, seventy-six runners completed the 5k! We broke our fundraising record and raised over $1,600 to help people experiencing homelessness in Vermont! Pretty incredible. We are so happy to continue to help COTS in its mission to advocate for long-term solutions to end homelessness and provide emergency shelter, services, and long-term housing for Vermonters who are experiencing homelessness. Professional photographer Fiona Small joined us for the morning and captured the event's spirit in her pictures. All of the photos from the event can be found in this photo album on Flickr. We hope many people will join us on March 25th for our Maple 5k - a similar race with a sweet reward at the end! More details about the Maple 5k will be shared this winter. Thanks again for making the Ooky Spooky a spooktacular event!

On September 27th our Head of School, C.J. Spirito, traveled to Boston to enjoy one of his favorite pastimes- baseball! Before the game, George and Susan Rutherford hosted a pre-game gathering from a 20th-floor rooftop overlooking Fenway Park. After and enjoying some snacks and a great photo op, the Rock Point crew headed over to the ballpark to see the Red Sox take on the Balitomore Orioles.

WiffleFest 2022 Hit it Out of the Park!

on August 24, 2022 By Molly Huddle Coffey | summer
Wow! What a fantastic 24th annual WiffleFest! It is a great privilege to host this magical day full of fun, connections, traditions, and smiles. This year we had more teams (39) than ever before, more fields (16) used all day, and we built two Wiffle Villages. After two incredible World Series competitions, The Young Guns kept their Championship title in the Majors, while The Hogs took home the Minor League Championship. In addition to all of the enchantment, camaraderie, sportsmanship, and healthy competition, we also raised $13,475 to help students access the life-changing education at Rock Point School. This was a record year for us!

Meet our New Director of Food Services (Chef)

on July 18, 2022 By Molly Huddle Coffey | community
When Kevin Douglas, our long-time School Chef, resident Star Wars expert, house band, and sometime Martial Arts teacher announced he was leaving RPS this spring, we set out to find a chef who could bring their own set of skills and passions to the position. We knew we could never find someone just like Kevin, but we thought we might find someone who could make a creative and delicious school menu, mentor our students in the kitchen, and share their interests with the community.
