Today the Core 3 Physics students are taking a field trip to the Joseph C McNeil Generating Station, our local municipal wood-fired electricity generation plant.
It is a remarkable facility that converts leftover wood and other biomass to carbon-free electricity for the city. They give a great tour, including the amazing fire at the core of the plant, and the "permanent rainstorm" that recycles the water used to turn the turbine.
Thanks to the employees of the plant for providing the tour!
