Summer Session has been a whirlwind of activity, so far! In our Cultivations class, we have been focusing on the land, both in the controlled environment of the garden and in more "wild" environments with little human interference. For our first field trip, we explored the Shelburne Museum to learn about Vermont history, modern art, and the Circus (just to name a few exhibits). For our second trip, we traveled to Bread and Butter Farm, learning about beef farming, as well as growing vegetables and baking. We've gone to a Strawberry Festival, volunteered to socialize animals at the Humane Society, gone swimming, and eaten Ben & Jerry's. To celebrate Independence Weekend, we traveled to Lake George where we swam, made pizza, and had way too much fun at Six Flags! As we go into our second week, we are looking forward to more swimming in Lake Champlain, working in the garden, more ice cream, and a trip to New Hampshire on the weekend.
